About the Job


This is a supplemental, hourly position with no designated percentage of time.

The Center for Developmental Neuroimaging (CDNI) is seeking a research professional to manually refine MRI segmentations for 19 ROIs (both left and right hemispheres) for (1) ongoing segmentations provided from the Healthy Brain Cognitive Development (HBCD) study, (2) 20 segmentation from the ALBERT atlas (0 months old), and (3) 30 BCP segmentations in age bins of 1 year, 2 years, and 34-38 months old. A successful applicant must be able to work well independently, work effectively with a team, and to communicate clearly in a collaborative environment. They must also have prior experience and training with performing manual correction of MRI segmentations and the tools used to do so.

The Center for Developmental Neuroimaging (CDNI) is located in the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota and housed at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain. Our work focuses on advancing the understanding of brain development in health and disease. We are an interdisciplinary team of researchers trying to:

  • Understand basic principles of brain functioning across development (i.e. figure out how the brain works).
  • Learn about how neuropsychiatric and other brain-based disorders develop and progress over time.
  • Contribute to the prevention and treatment of brain-based disorders.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTSPerform manual refinement of segmentations provided from various datasets (100%)
    • HBCD data: perform single round of manual corrections for new data made available over time and upload the corrected data to share back with the team.
    • Communicate with team to stay aware of when new data is available and other current tasks.
    • Document progress of work using project management software (Monday.com).
    • Use project management software Monday.com to document progress.
      Qualifications


      All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
      • High school graduation or the equivalent with some science courses and two years of experience in relevant academic and work experience may be substituted.
      • Must have experience, training, and proficiency in performing Freesurfer-compliant manual edits of MRI segmentations for various cortical and subcortical ROIs in data from a wide range of participant ages.
      • Must be proficient in using ITK-SNAP to perform manual corrections.
      • Must be proficient with Monday.com project management software.
      • Must be proficient in interacting with MSI's S3 system and procedures for accessing the data and sharing newly corrected data.
      • Effectiveness in working efficiently with minimum oversight and interacting constructively with faculty and staff.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
        • Former or current referral through organizations such as Daivergent or PrimeNeuro.

          Pay and Benefits


          Pay Range: $22.51; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
